Christmas is a time of goodwill and sharing all over the world. In keeping with this spirit Anpal Centre for Creative Arts Education presents The Christmas Rose – a fundraiser musical evening at the Kochi Town Hall on Saturday, 8th December 2018, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The recent devastating floods across Kerala has left a long road of recovery for many parts of the State. In order to support the ongoing rehabilitation efforts, the proceeds of the Donor Passes from The Christmas Rose will be contributed to the Office of the Collector of the District of Alappuzha. The funds will be allocated to the clean drinking water project for the flood rehabilitation of the Alappuzha district. The Platinum sponsor for the event is Abrao Group and the Gold Sponsor is Wonderla Holidays Ltd.
The Christmas Rose will be a treat for choral music lovers with a team of 70 singers and musicians bound to keep your hearts singing with joy. Two choral ensembles from the Choral Art program at Anpal, conducted by AAbraham [Anjana Abraham, Master of Music in Music Education from The Boston Conservatory (M.M.Ed, 2016)], will be showcased at the event: Anpal Chamber Choir (adult choral ensemble) and Anpal Treble Chorus (children’s choir).The concert will also feature solo western classical pieces from AAbraham.
The celebrated Dr. Vinita Henson (Doctorate of Musical Arts, University of Southern California), pianist, music educator, and director of the Center for Music Education in Bangalore, has kindly consented to perform at The Christmas Rose. Led by Mr. Pradeep Singh, violinist, music educator and conductor, the dynamic Cochin Youth Chamber Orchestra (CYCO) will perform as a guest orchestra.
