Being one of the best sites you can suggest for tourist as well as family, Pathiramanal is an alluring island for every nature lover. This island situated in the district of Alleppey is 16 kilometers from the town. The island is surrounded by the Vembanadu Lake and this gives the traveler to experience the journey through motor boat as well as house boats, which are comparatively cheap. Pathiramanal, creates a feast for every viewer due to it panoramic view. The calm lake and the silent atmosphere add beauty to the island.

One of the main attractions of Pathiramanal Island is its varieties of migratory birds from different parts of the world.   Pintail ducks, common teal, night heron, cormorant, darter, Indian shag, purple heron, gulls, terns, intermediate egrets, cattle egret, Indian pond heron, pheasant-tailed and bronze-winged jacanas, stork billed kingfisher, watercock, whistling duck, etc are some of the attractive birds in the forest.  The specially made walkways are helpful for the tourist to walk through the forest and to have a view of different birds and rare  trees. The facility of small restaurants and the availability of freshly caught fishes fried serve the taste of the island.

How to reach Pathiramanal: One can take the boats plying in the Muhamma-Kumarakom water route. It takes around 40 minutes from Kumarakom to reach Pathiramanal.
