Ginger has been used as a cough and cold remedy. Ginger contains chemicals that target cold viruses. Ginger also contain anti-microbial compounds which make it beneficial in treating infectious diseases. Drinking ginger tea is a great way to enjoy the benefits of this spice.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon contains polyphenols which help in recovery of damaged tissue and also fights infections. Cinnamon has anti-inflammatory properties as well which makes it a good spice to consume during this season.

Black Pepper

Black pepper like cinnamon, ginger and turmeric has anti-microbial properties which can help kill cold and flu viruses. In addition to this, black pepper also activates the curcumin present in turmeric which is why it is added along with turmeric to turmeric tea and milk.
