SuperCar Lamborghini Huracan was used by Italy’s Police force for an important life-saving mission. A kidney urgently needed to be transported from Rome to a hospital in Padua for an emergency transplant as fast as possible.
In most scenarios, a police escort would be used to clear traffic for an ambulance to transport the organ, but the Italian police don’t mess around. With no time to waste, police stuffed the kidney inside the supercar’s trunk and took off on a high-speed trip across Italy.
Normally, the 300-mile journey would take over four hours. Thanks to its 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine producing 602 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque, the Huracan completed the journey in half that time taking just over two hours, reaching an average speed of 145 mph.
Throughout the journey, the kidney was stored in a refrigeration system designed for organ transportation. The Police department of Italy has tweeted about this life-saving mission.
