“Flying Sikh Milkha Singh”
In the 80s and 90s, Milkha Singh was one of the few famous personalities to be named in the sports world, apart from cricket, in everyday, common people’s colloquial speech. Apart from the examples of Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar; Milkha Singh was the person whose name would be used to give an example that look, he runs like Milkha Singh.
Today “Flying Sikh” have left us to complete the final and definite race of life. In order to pay tribute to him, when I think about him, I find that the life of Milkha Singh, his success is important not only because he gave India recognition on the playing field on the world stage at a time when we were not resourceful and at the level of facilities and infrastructure, our system looked backward in front of the world powers. Rather, his life is praiseworthy and exemplary for the reason that he made the adversity, storms and sorrows of life his strength. Even after getting success, excellence and appreciation, he was able to maintain his spontaneity, simplicity and cordial personality throughout his life.
The life of “Flying Sikh”,who flew from the ordinary to the extraordinary, and the mantra of “discipline, hard work and will power” will continue to inspire people forever.
