Due to the demise of Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parikkar , Goa assembly speaker Pramod Sawant aged 46 is sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Goa. The swearing in ceremony was slated for 11 pm last night but was delayed due to the demands from allies. Funeral of Manohar Parikkar took place in the evening and in the mean time congress has met governor to stake claim for the formation of the ministry. Eleven other MLAs, who were part of the Manohar Parrikar cabinet, were sworn as ministers at the delayed ceremony at Goa’s Raj Bhavan.
BJP had to give in to allies’ demands of power-sharing in Goa cabinet. Sudin Dhavalikar from Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and Goa Forward Party chief Vijai Sardesai were sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers also.
